Our Lady Panthers will tip off Glencoe's first HS game of the 24-25 season at 6:30 Friday night against Agra in Jennifer Lazenby Event Center. The girls advanced to the Regional tournament last year and senior Christyn Ray said the team is all about reaching beyond that goal to the Area tourney next spring. "We are concentrating on coming together as a unit and I believe we can go far this year if we do. We are a no-drama team. We are all focused on doing whatever we have to do to make our team successful." The girls are led by four seniors, below from left, Brooklyn Ross, Christyn Ray, Kali Harting and Savanna Clark. Our district tournament, the first step towards post-season success, will be held February 13-15 with locations to be determined at that time. "Drugs are Despicable" Minions proud to be drug free! #redribbonweek
The Panther boys basketball team will be led this season by two members of the Vype magazine basketball preseason top 100 in Oklahoma. Seniors Logan Vyrostek, left, and Clark Pepper were both recently named to the list of outstanding state-wide players. Coach Sam Baker said it was unusual for any school to have two players honored by the magazine in the same year. The Panthers will be a veteran squad this year featuring experienced players at all positions and a solid bench.
The boys begin their 24-25 season this Friday night against Agra in the Jennifer Lazenby Event Center. The girls game will tip off their season opener at 6:30 and the boys will play immediately after.
GPS high school and junior high students celebrated the third day of Red Ribbon Drug Awareness Week by dressing up as Minions, characters from the animated movie series. Leading the cast of fun-loving Panthers was English teacher Kim Eason, second from right, sporting her Minion-correct mono-goggle. Students who wanted to participate in the event but didn't have Minion-approved attire were welcomed to the group by wearing yellow shirts. The final day of Red Ribbon week is Thursday when the official gear will be any school-appropriate Halloween costume (JH/HS only). In addition, costumes will be judged at an assembly Thursday afternoon in the gym.

It was Rock and Roll day and many students wore T-shirts of their favorite rock singers and groups. Students will dress up as Minions or wear yellow Wednesday. With Halloween coming this weekend, Red Ribbon attire for Thursday will be trick-or-treat costumes for JH/HS. From Little Dribblers to high school seniors, Meet the Panthers was a great night Friday! This season's 2024-2025 basketball players and cheerleaders got to show off their skills on the court. Family and other fans enjoyed meeting Panther players of all ages. Join the high school teams Friday November 1st for the season tip off against Agra in the Jennifer Lazenby Event Center! The girls play at 6:30 and the boys game will follow immediately after.
